Religious Emblems Counselor Application Process |
||
The Catholic Committee on Scouting and Camp Fire (CCoS) uses the term "Religious Emblems Counselor" or counselor to identify all adults working with Catholic Scouts on Religious Emblems or Recognitions. The National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire (NCCGSCF) literature uses Religious Recognition Moderator to describe the adult working with Girl Scouts. The National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS) uses the term Pack Religious Emblems Coordinator for Cub Scout Packs, Religious Emblems Counselor for the Ad Altare Dei Religious Emblem program and Religious Emblem Facilitator for the Pope Pius XII Religious Emblem program. Rest assured that the the training team uses the appropriate terms during your classroom phase of certification as a "counselor." Whether you volunteered because you saw a need or someone recommended you to the CCoS, all counselors start the process by filling out an application. If you do not have an application, please click on the link below which opens a Word document. Printer-friendly Counselor Application Fill out the form, take it to your pastor for his approval and deliver
it to a CCoS member or mail it to our Vice Chairman for Training: Mark will contact you about a classroom date for training. Before the classroom date, please obtain copies of the workbooks and review them. Keep a pad and pencil handy to jot down questions you may have while reading the material. This will enhance your classroom experience. During the Classroom Phase, you will meet your mentor. The mentors will help you along your path to certification and make themselves available to assist you as you present your program to your Scouts. If you have any questions, please call Mark at 703-490-3156 or e-mail at Mark Hansen
